Truth In Advertising*
Advertising is a tough game, you have to make your point even when you know your point is faulty. Well that is at least how Dell’s ad partners are spinning it. In a recient ad in the UK, Dell computers claim to have the thinest laptop available. Their actual quote is:
Finally, the power you crave in the thinnest 15″ PC on the planet*.

Oh, the dreaded asterisk pointing to the unreadable text at the bottom. In this day and age, expect to be pounced upon by consumers ready to call your bluff immediately, as engadget did. If you can’t respond to the backlash, well, consider marketing your product differently.
