Brochure can come in various shapes and sizes, colors and paper stocks. For this assignment I want you to tell the client what and how you would like the brochure printed. (Ie what paper stock, what size and what types of folds.) The main prerequisite from the clients point of view is that the brochure be printed as a two color job.

You can choose one of the following non-profits to work with.

Non-Profits:

ARV261 – Week Five Day Ten – Brochure Project

Key Points:

  • Brochure Assignment
  • Folds

Assignment:

Now that you are familiar with your non-profit I want you to develop 2 brochures that tie in your poster design along with the needs of your organization. This project will utilize all of the notes taken about your organization and displayed with a central concept. The brochures should go in-depth with the who, what when, where and/or why of the organization.

Design Specs:

Final Size #1 Flat: 8.5×11 or 9×12 (Remeber this is just a guide line if your creative juices take you in another direction talk with me and we will see what we can come up with.)

Final Size #2 Flat: 4×9 (I would recommend doing this size for your two color job.)

Fold: Depends on what information you convey. Suggest to the client what you thin will work best and why.

Color: 4/4 and a 2/2 In today’s digital print world two color jobs are seen less and less. However you need to know how to set-up a two color job properly.

Paper Stock: You will be required to suggest a suitable paper stock for your client.

Due Date: October 13, 2009

Remember that presentation is key!

Folds:

There are all types of folds that you can do with a brochure. While most stick to the traditional “Z” fold or Tri-fold, the possibilities are endless. Download the PDF of different folds provided by www.bradenprint.com here.
